The BRICS organization has declared the adoption of 13 new countries as Official Partners of the organization in the just concluded BRICS 2024 summit held in Kazan, Russia.
The 13 nations have been officially recognized and invited to join the BRICS bloc. This declaration was born from last year’s summit in which the bloc invited some countries to participate and join the BRICS membership.
The 13 nations are Nigeria, Algeria, Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Turkey , Uganda, Indonesia, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Vietnam.
The move is yet unclear whether these new BRICS partners will be used as replacements for the expected membership invitations.
BRICS has grown at an unexpected rate since the beginning of the Ukraine-Russia war two years ago, it has become a symbol of dominant power in a bid to wrestle the western dominance in the world.
The bloc ran an increasingly aggressive campaign against the de-dollarization of the US- dollar dominance of the world economy market.
In the last one year, so many official BRICS official members and unofficial members have traded with each other without the use of the dollar. China and Russia have recorded the highest level of trade volume between the two countries since the formation of the bloc.
Prodesq political analyst, Temitope Oladeji, disclosed that the newly just concluded summit was held at a very crucial moment in the West as the United States prepares for a presidential election in November.
He further explained that the summit brought together some unprecedented political change in the landscape of world politics, which saw India and China hold a bi-lateral trade conversation which has not been held in the last five years since the LAC border crisis between the two countries.
The summit also saw the meeting of two hostile nations of Armenian and Azerbaijani sit side by side and discuss trade relations and how to quell tensions between the two countries.
The presence of the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Gueterres in the summit would have been a blow to the West and especially Ukraine. The secretary general met with the Russian President for the first time since the war broke out between Ukraine and Russia.
Temitope also discussed the official status of Iran as a full fledged member of BRICS brings the tensions between Iran and Israel to another level of confrontation, Israel is an non-allied member of NATO which has been preparing a retaliatory attack against Iran for its attack against Israel on October 1.
A retaliation strike from Israel against Iran will increase the tensions between NATO and BRICS, while in Israel preparations Iran becomes a full member of BRICS.
