The Appeal Courts in Michigan and North Carolina have ruled in favor of Robert F Kennedy Jr in his bid to remove his name from the state’s ballot box which are considered to swing states.
This verdict was passed on Friday after a month in which Mr Kennedy Jr pulled out of the presidential race and threw his support behind former President Donald Trump.
The former president who celebrated the verdict made a statement about it during his visit to the police officers’ union in Charlotte, North Carolina. He said “So all of the Bobby people are going to vote for me.”.
The verdict could play a very significant difference in the close presidential race between former President Donald Trump, who is running as a Republican candidate , and current vice president Kamala Harris, a Democrat. The two candidates are set for a showdown in November presidential elections.
Former Independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr has been fighting vigorously to ensure the removal of his name from ballot boxes in key swing states, after spending so much time and effort in getting his name on those ballot boxes.
Also, it has been confirmed that Mr Kennedy’s name will not appear on ballot boxes in Arizona, Nevada and Pennsylvania, which are considered three other key swing states.
The North Carolina verdict came hours before state election officials were scheduled to announce more than 132,000 absentee ballots. Whereas, the North Carolina Board of Elections has alerted that those voting papers should not be issued out on Friday.
The board has also argued the expensive cost of changing the ballot boxes which would have to be reprinted and redistributed without the name of Robert F Kennedy Jr on it.
Meanwhile in Wisconsin, a judge has ruled against Mr Kennedy because the law in Wisconsin states that “any person who files nomination papers and qualifies to appear on the ballot may not decline nomination”. However, the judge has set another hearing for Sep 11, which is a week before ballot boxes are being sent out.
