President Joe Biden earlier today has announced a new round of military funding for Israel in a deal worth $3.5 billion dollars to procure United States weapons despite his administration saying it is working on a ceasefire deal between Israel and Gaza.

The department of state said that since the war in Gaza has entered its tenth month despite the wild claim of Israel war crimes against the people of Gaza.

This funding comes after the U.S congress in April approved the disbursement of $14.5 billion dollars to aid the Israel government in its war against Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

It is disclosed that part of the $3.5 billion dollars will be given to a special Israel military unit that has been accused of several human rights violations against civilians in Gaza since the beginning of the war began ten months ago.

The  funding of this Israel special military unit was approved by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken despite strong opposition by Republican lawmakers. Blinken defended his decision that it was necessary to give Israel the needed time to address the wrongful attack carried against them by Hamas on October seven last year.

This additional aid of $3.5 billion dollars makes it a total of $18 billion dollars that the US government has given to Israel in five months.

It can be recalled that Israel prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu was hosted by the US congress less than two weeks ago in which he vowed to deliver a total victory in Gaza and Lebanon.

In the last week after Netanyahu’s fiery speech at the Congress, several countries have called on their citizens to leave Lebanon which indicates that the Israel government has planned to extend its into Lebanon against Hezbollah.

Several missiles have been fired into northern Israel from Hezbollah in the past week and Israel has been launching airstrikes against Lebanon. Things went from bad to worse after Israel assassinated top Hamas and Hezbollah leaders last week in Iran.

The attack which has been condemned by the Iranian government and has prompted the Iranian government to call for a retaliatory strike on Israel in the coming weeks.  This has heightened tensions in the Middle East and has seen US warships move closer into the Gulf region.

The heightened tensions has also led to several major attacks on military bases housing US soldiers in Syria and Iraq. Earlier today it was reported that an attack on a base housing US troops in eastern Syria and US military helicopters have been flying over parts of Syria-Iraq border after an attack on a base housing American troops.

The recent attack is one of many that has happened in the recent week. Four days ago several US personnel were injured in an attack on a base housing US troops in Iraq.
