At least 40 people have been confirmed dead while another 60 are reported to be seriously injured when an Israeli missile hit an humanitarian center at Khan Younis in Southern Gaza on Monday night.

The humanitarian center which is home to thousands of Palestianians refugees since the beginning of the war in October have witnessed a series of airstrikes from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).

This was confirmed by the Palestinian Civil Defence authority, in a statement by the operation director he said, “Forty people were killed and more than 60 injured, while many are still under the rubble”.

The attack which was also confirmed by the Israeli authorities in a statement by, claimed that

“significant Hamas terrorists who were operating within a command and control center embedded inside the Humanitarian Area in Khan Yunis.”

“Prior to the strike, numerous steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harming civilians, including the use of precise munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional means,” this was revealed by the spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) who later added that,

“The terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip continue to systematically abuse civilian and humanitarian infrastructure, including the designated Humanitarian Area, to carry out terrorist activity against the State of Israel and IDF troops.”

Whereas Hamas has rejected the Israeli claims that the center harbors any of their fighters, this was disclosed in a statement to counter the IDF statement, Hamas said “The resistance has denied several times that any of its members exist within civilian gatherings or are using these places for military purposes.”

The proscribed terrorist organization further disclosed that Israel intentionally launched the airstrikes directly at palestinian civilian occupied territory and any other claim by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is far from the truth.

Prodesq, gathered that the Israeli Defense Forces launched three different missile strikes at the Humanitarian Center in Khan Younis, which also recorded a death of 90 people in July when another Israeli airstrike was launched into the safe zone.
