by Admin Aug 22, 2024 The United States officials on Thursday announced that Biden’s administration will send an additional $125 million dollars worth of military aid to Ukraine in support of their war against Russia. The military package will include air defense missiles, Ammunitions for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), Javelins and an array of other anti-armor missiles, counter-drone and counter-electronic warfare systems and equipment, 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition, vehicles, and other equipment. The additional military aid package will bring the total US assistance package to a staggering amount of $55.7 billion dollars since the war began two years ago. This announcement which is yet to be made publicly was disclosed by a United States official who has chosen to remain anonymous but also revealed that the official announcement could be made tomorrow, Friday which is the eve of Ukraine’s Independence Day, or anytime next week. The military aid will be directly shipped out of the Pentagon stockpile of arsenal which will aid in the quick delivery of this military equipment to the Ukrainian army which has been fighting Russia’s invasion for over two years. Ukraine will welcome the aid at a very important time when its forces look to expand their incursion into Russian territory, which has been extended to about 100 square kilometers of the Kursk region, an incursion which many still call a surprise including the US government that has denied having any idea of the offensive or even sanctioned it.  Whereas, the Russian troops are making significant gains in the eastern region of the Ukrainian City of Pokrovsk, a critical logistics hub that has made the United States government issued a warning to the Ukrainian leaders to evaluate the long-term effects of stretching their front line without repercussions of losing more ground to Russian troops.  In discussing this danger on Thursday, Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said Thursday disclosed that “we are still working with Ukraine on how that fits into their strategic objectives on the battlefield itself.”. She further said that the US government understands the need for the Ukrainian army to minimize the border controlled by the Russian forces. Ukraine President, Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday made his first visit to the border area where the Ukrainian forces launched a surprise offensive into the Russian Kursk region which began on the sixth of August. 

by Admin Aug 21, 2024 It was all cheers and laughter at the Democratic National Convention held on Tuesday night in Chicago to honor the homecoming of former president Barack Obama and his wife Michelle in their bid to rally black support for their Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris. President Barack Obama, began his political career as a state and federal Senator representing Illinois before he became the first Black President of the United States of America.  He opened his speech with the phrase “ It’s good to be home.” which was met with deafening and thunderous cheers from over forty thousand people in attendance at the United Center. The former president further said “ “I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling fired up!”, his words and phrases continually expressed his nostalgic state of mind when he said “Fired up! Ready to go!”. The 44th American president urged the people in attendance to deviate from any form of divisiveness that would bring hate and anger within the country. He paid tribute to his former vice president and the current president of the United States for being one of the best decisions he ever made to make him his successor.  He further made a plea for the current vice president and the democrat presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, making reference to all her accomplishments including the time she was as attorney general of California before she became vice president. He reminded the people of how Kamala Harris fought big pharmaceutical companies and how she helped reduce the cost of insulin and also lowered the cost of healthcare services. Later into the convention, former President Obama took shots at his predecessor, former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, accused him of being a divisive leader, in his words “We do not need four more years of bluster and bumbling and chaos,” he emphasizes that if Donald Trump wins in November, what would happen will be worse than before, “We have seen that movie before, and we all know that the sequel is usually worse.”. He further accused former President Trump of being someone who only sees power as a means to an end. He said “The other day, I heard someone compare Trump to the neighbor who keeps running his leaf blower outside your window every minute of every day,” Obama said to laughs. “Now, from a neighbor, that’s exhausting. The truth is, Donald Trump sees power as nothing more than a means to his ends.” In his closing remarks former President Obama called for the United States to be a “force for good” that drives toward the betterment of the world.  He further asked the US government to drop the agenda of being the “police of the world” he also said, “We can’t eradicate every cruelty and injustice in the world, but America can be, and must be, a force for good: discouraging conflict, fighting disease, promoting human rights, protecting the planet from climate change.” 

By Admin Aug 19, 2024 It was a dark Sunday for the residents of East Baltimore County when multiple shooters opened fire at a gathering which claimed the life of a man and left seven people seriously wounded. This was disclosed by the Baltimore police commissioner during a news conference with journalists, the commissioner said the shooting occurred around 8pm in the evening.  It was unclear what transpired at the scene of the incident but it was reported that a 36 year old man was killed and six other men and a lady are in critical conditions, with age range between 22 years to 45 years old.  The shooting took place at a gathering within the 1300 block of Spring Street, which reported that several shooters were involved in the incident but no arrests nor suspects have been reported yet. The commissioner in his words said “We’ve got a lot of evidence and we’re looking for a lot of video.” He further added that several assault rifles were recovered from the scene and that the U.S. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are on ground and are assisting with the investigation. Baltimore, which has been experiencing heavy downpours since last week but that didn’t stop the efficiency of the police department and first responders who were dispatched to the scene and were able to gather evidence at the scene. The victims were taken to the area hospital. It was reported that some other victims walked in without the help of the ambulance or first responders.  Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott, who expressed his concern for the victims and the city, said,  “Tonight, Baltimore is grappling with the impacts of another mass shooting that has taken the life of one Baltimorean and irreparably changed several others,”.  The Mayor further said ““To those who know who was involved – even if they are your loved one – I implore you to do the right thing and urge them to take accountability,” he added that ““These tragic acts of violence – which are still too common in our city – are only possible because of the continued ease of access to guns on our streets”.  The Baltimore shooting makes it the 350th shooting in the United States since the beginning of the year, and has left 350 people dead and 1500 wounded, according to Gun Violence Archive. 

by Admin Aug 17, 2024 The popular X  social media platform formerly known as Twitter has on Saturday announced that it will shut down its Brazil operations with immediate effect even though its services will remain available to the platform users in the South American country.  This was disclosed after the platform accused the Brazilian government of censorship orders from the Brazilian judge Alexandre de Moraes. The American social media company disclosed that the Brazilian judge covertly threatened one of its senior officials with arrest if the social media platform didn’t comply with the court order to take down some specific contents and block certain accounts on X as part of an investigation into election disinformation and “digital militias.” In a recent post by the X Global Government Affairs account, the platform said “Last night, Alexandre de Moraes threatened our legal representative in Brazil with arrest if we do not comply with his censorship orders. He did so in a secret order, which we share here to expose his actions.” The platform further said they have pleaded numerous times to the support court but all pleas fell on deaf ears. It disclosed that the Brazilian Judge Alexandre de Moraes had ignored the Brazilian rule of law resulting in threatening its Brazilian staff.  “As a result, to protect the safety of our staff, we have made the decision to close our operation in Brazil, effective immediately.” The company indicated that the actions of Judge Moraes were not compatible with those of a democratic government. Prodesqagency gathers that earlier this year, Judge Moraes opened a criminal inquiry into Elon Musk after X’s owner said he would defy a court order by lifting restrictions on designated accounts after the social media platform listed some of the targeted accounts and said they include “a pastor, a current Parliamentarian, and the wife of a former Parliamentarian.” in an earlier post by the platform. The decision that the company has prepared to take action after it indicated that it would go against a court order by lifting restrictions on designated accounts.  Ever since the beginning of the court tussle between X and the Brazilian government, the supporters of Brazil’s former president Jair Bolsonaro who are considered to be far-right have criticized Moraes and called for his removal from office. 

by Admin Aug 16, 2024 The United States, Egypt, and Qatar have jointly released a statement after over 48 hours of meeting for a ceasefire and hostage negotiations at the Doha summit. The statement which was released today, states that progress has been made and the path is set for regional de-escalation. The summit began on Wednesday with the aim of bridging the negotiation difference between the two warring parties of Hamas and Israel. The statement includes : Further meetings between the senior officials of the United States of America, Egypt, and Qatar are scheduled to be held by the end of next week in Cairo, the capital of Egypt with the goal of achieving a set agreement on the scheduled day. While the leaders of these three countries have all jointly agreed that there is no more time to waste in a war that started on Oct.7 and has claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, it was said that “There is no more time to waste, and no further delays can be justified by any party. It is time to release the hostages and detainees, initiate the ceasefire, and implement this agreement.” Hamas released a statement on Tuesday morning that it won’t be participating in the cease-fire meeting at the Doha Summit in an interview held with Ahmad Abdul Hadi, Hamas’s representative in Lebanon. “Netanyahu is not interested in reaching an agreement that ends the aggression completely,” Mr. Abdul Hadi said. “But rather he is deceiving and evading and wants to prolong the war, and even expand it at the regional level.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s representatives were also absent from the Doha Summit, which was contrary to what he said a few weeks ago that he would be sending delegates to the summit. It was later disclosed by the New York Times that the Israeli prime minister made demands that were “unreasonable and Provocative” to the Hamas leader.  An allegation that the Israeli government has denied.  Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian Authority, met with President Vladimir Putin of Russia on Tuesday with the Russian president soliciting his support for the Palestinian people. 

by Admin  Aug 16, 2024  Pres. Donald Trump’s Attorneys on Thursday are pleading to the presiding New York Judge to adjourn the judgment of their client to post-election days. In a letter written by Todd Blanche and Emil Bove the attorneys of the former president to the presiding Judge, Juan Merchan, it was stated that “By adjourning the sentencing until after that election — which is of paramount importance to the entire Nation,”. Highlighting the importance of the adjournment of the former president’s sentencing,  his attorneys further stated that  “the Court would reduce, even if not eliminate, issues regarding the integrity of any future proceedings.” Judge Juan Merchan, is also the Judge who presided over President Donald Trump’s trial where he was convicted of felony charges of falsifying business records.  The former president is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 18 after being found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records.  If the judgment goes as scheduled on Sept.18, it falls on the same day President Donald Trump’s running mate Sen. JD Vance goes head-to-head with democratic vice president nominee gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota. President Trump is facing conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records which is related to a hush-money transaction with an adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election. The former president was meant to be sentenced on July 11 but had his hearing adjourned after he pleaded with Judge Juan Mechan who then fixed Sept 18 as the new date of judgment. The Judge defended his decision in order for the Republican Presidential candidate’s attorney to have time to present their case argument that a U.S. Supreme Court on the decision of presidential immunity in another different pres. Trump’s case should result in his conviction being overturned.  This will be the third time the judgment hearing on the hush money trial will be adjourned, it was recalled that Judge Juan Merchan was supposed to pass his judgment on September 6 but was pushed back until September 18, which the judge denied.  In the letter sent to Judge Juan Merchan, one of Trump’s attorneys, Todd Blanche, argued that the period between Judge Merchan’s decision on immunity and the sentencing date is too short, and will not be enough to give his client a reasonable time to file a proper appeal if the judgment goes against him, in his words, Todd said “A single business day is an unreasonably short period of time”. Blanche further contended that the Manhattan District Attorney’s office should not be allowed to submit the sentencing hearing of pres. Trump while his immunity judgment is pending because it would be “personally and politically prejudicial to President Trump and his family, and harmful to the institution of the Presidency.” The attorney further states that “the requested adjournment would prospectively mitigate the asserted conflicts and appearances of impropriety, which are also the subject of an ongoing congressional inquiry.”  The New York District Attorney’s office has declined to comment on the letter.

by Admin 15 Aug, 2024 Earlier today, Senator JD disclosed that he has accepted the invitation of CBS News, to hold a vice presidential debate with Tim Walz the running mate of the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.  The debate which is organized by CBS News will be the second debate and a totally different version from the debate organized by CNN which will be held on September 18.  Disclosing his decision on his X account, the Republican Ohio Senator said “The American people deserve as many debates as possible, which is why President Trump has challenged Kamala to three of them already. Not only do I accept the CBS debate on October 1st, but I accept the CNN debate on September 18th as well. I look forward to seeing you both”. As the United States of America’s general election draws closer to the point of intense campaigns and debate, CBS had proposed four dates for the vice presidential date: Sept. 17, Sept. 24, Oct. 1, and Oct. 8. Tim Walz is yet to agree to CNN’s September 18 proposed debate and The Harris and Timz campaign has not fully responded to the CNN request as to whether the Minnesota governor will participate at the CNN September 18 proposed vice presidential debate.  While reaching for a delay in response, a CNN spokesperson extended invitations to both vice presidential candidates for a debate in the fall and acknowledged that Vance has accepted CNN’s invitation. In the statement released by a CNN spokesperson, it was said “We are always in communication with the campaigns around opportunities for the American public to hear from leading candidates for President and Vice President of the United States, and we look forward to this programming in the fall,”. Last week, President Trump acknowledged that his campaign office has accepted the CBS’s vice presidential debate and JD Vance “has stepped up mentally” and is doing a fantastic job but didn’t comment on the chosen date.  President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are set for a face-off debate on September 10 organized by ABC News. 

by Admin  Aug 15, 2024 Imane Kehlif,  the Algerian female Boxer who stood out in the midst of severe controversy at the just-concluded Paris 2024 Olympics.  The boxer who claimed the gold medal on Friday has been under backlash from her co-competitors due to her physique and boxing prowess which has brought her a lot of smear to her reputation in the boxing world and beyond. This provocation and slander prompted Imane Khelif’s lawyer Nabil Boudi to file a complaint against the Paris Prosecutor’s Office on Friday after her victory at the Olympics women’s boxing final against her Chinese opponent Yang Lui.  Out of the numerous people accused of slander by Imane Kehlif’s lawyer, the most notable are Elon Musk the owner of X platform formerly called Twitter, and  J.K. Rowling, the prominent author who is famous for her Harry Potter works, was named in a lawsuit filed on behalf of the Algerian Boxer Imane Khelif. The complaint which was filed to French authorities accused them of “acts of aggravated cyber harassment.” and also said that the prosecuting body should investigate whoever deemed necessary on the X platform.  Imane Khelif’s lawyer Nabil Boudi in his statement to Variety News said “What we’re asking is that the prosecution investigates not only these people but whoever it feels necessary. If the case goes to court, they will stand trial,”   Boudi further disclosed that the lawsuit “could target personalities overseas,” noting  that “the prosecutor’s office for combating online hate speech has the possibility to make requests for mutual legal assistance with other countries.” The 25-year-old went viral after she dominated the female Olympics competition in the just concluded Paris 2024 Olympics despite failing a gender test the year prior due to high male testosterone and the identification of XY male chromosomes instead of XX found in the female body system.  The Algerian whose father has come out to denounce the false allegations against his daughter of being transgender claims that his daughter was born a female and has never gone through any gender modification in her life. Imane Khelif who is a professional light welterweight boxer has a total record of 56 professional fights and has won 47 of them winning seven of her fights by knockout (KO) and has lost nine times. She was a gold medalist at the African Championship Games held in 2022 in Maputo, Mozambique.   This is not the first time the Algerian Boxer has faced such treatment due to her gender misconceptions, in 2023 Imane was disqualified after she failed unspecified gender eligibility tests during the  2023 Women’s World Boxing Championships held in New Delhi, India. The tournament was organized by the International Boxing Association (IBA). This event is one of the main reasons why Imane’s performance at the just-concluded Olympics in Paris was under heavy shadows.

The Turkish pistol event shooter who stands out at the heart of Turkey’s athleticism was born on January 1, 1973, in the city of Kahramanmaraş, Turkey. Yusuf, who rose overnight to international fame and became an internet poster face of masculinity due to his casual gear equipment that was minimal compared to his  Serbian opponent Damir Mikec, who was wearing a blinder over one eye, a lens over the other, and a large pair of ear defenders and won the gold medal, while Yusuf and his mixed team event teammate won the Silver medal at the 10-meter air pistol.  The 51-year-old who studied physical education and sports at the University of Gazi is also a retired non-commissioned officer of the Turkish Gendarmerie which is under the Ministry of Interior and is tasked with the responsibility of installing law and order in society and also a member of the Jandarma Gücü Sports Club.  Yusuf began his shooting career in 2001 but began to represent his country four years later at the 2005 Mediterranean Games held in Almeria, Spain, and from there continued to represent Turkey in numerous international competitions, including the Olympic Games, World Championships, and European Championships.  He won silver at the 10-meter air pistol event on his first outing on the international stage and continued to win numerous medals for his country 19 years after at different competitions of the pistol event.  His first sensational display of weaponry caught the attention of the athletics world at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. The Turkish international competed in the 10-meter air pistol and 50-meter pistol events, he showcased his remarkable precision and composure under pressure, and though he didn’t win any medal his shooting techniques shined the spotlight on him.  A year later he took the world by storm at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) 2013 World Cup held in Munich, Germany. He won the gold medal which underscored his status as one of the most prolific shooters in the world. Yusuf who is currently enjoying  his internet fame took to his Instagram page to repost a video compilation of Turkish-language memes about him. The Olympic silver medalist has an expression of his philosophy on the official Olympic page which states: “Success doesn’t come with your hands in your pockets.” The 51-year-old’s contributions to his country’s athletics have extended beyond his individual accomplishments but also serve as a role model for aspiring athletes, exemplifying the values of discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship for the next generation of Turkish athletes.  He is currently actively involved in facilitating the sport of shooting in Turkey. He is also working to discover and develop young talents in the country. He continuously pushes to advance the sport at the grassroots level. 

The world was stuck in awe of how Kim Ye-ji, the South Korean shooter, claimed the silver medal for the 10-meter air pistol event at the Paris Olympics.  The 31-year-old South Korean admitted she was in shock the day after she claimed the silver medal that she had gone viral and become an internet sensation for being the coolest shooter in the world after her picture pose went viral. The pose also has inspired numerous fans to create art of the pose after the American Billionaire and owner of X suggested that the South Korean would fit perfectly well for an action movie.  The 31-year-old sensational shooter who earlier suffered disappointment after she was disqualified at the 25-meter pistol event due to an error that cost her a trip to the finals even though she was a huge favorite to win a gold medal at the event. The South Korean who is still enjoying her unprecedented fame revealed that she is not a fan of social media and doesn’t have an X account but has an Instagram account with just six posts on it that she got to know of her internet fame through her 25-meter pistol coach who told her she has become a world star during a team dinner a day after she won the silver medal.  She further revealed she got to know through someone else on her team that  Elon Musk gave her a shout-out on his platform and her Instagram dm has been jam-packed with lots of messages from friends and fans from around the world. She disclosed that some of her Instagram messages were from fans who told her that they had learned a lot from her and that her mindset gave them hope. That was her reaction when she was disqualified from the 25-meter pistol event. Such messages meant a lot to her and moved her emotions.  She said because she scored zero shots at the 25-meter event doesn’t mean that was the end of the world and that has always been her mentality she wishes to tell people that whatever sad or demoralizing event might have happened to them won’t stop the sun from rising the following day and she truly believes that words carry power even though some people were angry at her and accused her of not taking the Olympics seriously because of her laugh reaction when she was scored zero point at the 25-meters pistol event. She revealed that her reaction was misunderstood and that she had gone through bigger mistakes in her life.  The South Korean who failed to discharge her empty cartridge after each shot missed her shot by 0.01 seconds at the 25-meter pistol event revealed that she started her shooting career in the sixth grade even though her parents were against it,  but her stubborn mentality paved the way for parents to finally give in to her demand.  The 31-year-old shooter said she had received some movie roles offer after Elon Musk suggested that she would be a good fit for a shooting movie but she disclosed that she hasn’t given it much thought and she is currently enjoying her wins.
