Islamic Militants Kill 40 Soldiers In Chad

by Admin Oct 28, 2024 A military base on Barkham Island of Chad was attacked on Sunday evening by militias killing 40 Chadian soldiers after hours of gun battle. The tragic incident was confirmed by Chadian President Mahamat Deby, who disclosed that no organization has claimed responsibility for the attack but he has ordered the Chadian army to go after the Sunday attackers. During the president’s visit to the military base, he said “assessing the situation on the ground, paying his respects to the deceased soldiers, showing his compassion to the wounded, and lifting the morale of his brothers-in-arms”. General Saleh Haggar Tidjani, the LAC regional governor expressed his displeasure about the ugly incident but reassured that peace has been restored back to the Island, he said: “We have many casualties, yes, but the situation is under control and our forces are on the ground pursuing the enemy”. Sunday’s attack is the deadliest the country has ever experienced since the 2020 deadly attack which claimed the lives of 100 Chadian soldiers during a raid that forced former President Idriss Déby to launch an operation against Islamist jihadists on the border between Chad, Cameroon, Niger, and Nigeria. The military base had 200 soldiers stationed to protect the Island from Islamic militants. The attackers had enough time to steal weapons and ammunition from the dead soldiers. Sunday’s attack is a major blow to the presidency of Mahamat Deby who was an elite seasoned soldier before he became the president. The United Nations disclosed that over 220,000 Chadians have fled their homes in the last decade due to recurrent terrorist attacks from Islamic jihadists. It could be recalled that the former president was killed three years ago during military operations against Islamic militias on the Libyan border. Fatal Road Accident Claims 19 Lives In Mexico

by Admin Oct 27, 2024 A deadly accident claimed the lives of 19 people when a cargo truck collided with a passenger bus on a highway that connects Zacatecas with the central state of Aguascalientes, in northern Mexico. Rodrigo Reyes, a senior Zacatecas state official confirmed the unfortunate incident and further said “Following rescue efforts and expert work carried out at the scene, the confirmed number is, unfortunately, 19 people”. He further expressed his sympathy and condolence for the departed, he said “We send our solidarity and condolences to all the families and people who have lost a loved one in this unfortunate accident.” He disclosed that six people who survived the ghastly accident are currently being treated in hospitals. The passenger bus was traveling between the city of Tepic, in western Nayarit state, and Ciudad Juárez on the US border when the container trailer filled with corn fell off the truck, which caused the bus with 25 people to tumble over and somersaulted. Juan Manríquez Moreno, coordinator of the National Guard in Zacatecas, further explained the accident that the truck trailer detached on a highway before the bus collided with it, causing the vehicle to tip onto its right side. The highway has been closed due to traffic, Reyes said, adding that the army, National Guard, and civil protection forces were deployed to calm the anxiety among motorists on the highway. Prodesq gathered that in 2023, Mexico recorded a total number of 81,048 which led to the deaths of 4,803 people while over 90,000 people were injured.

The overnight attack killed a total of five people in Dnipro while two reported numbers of casualties were also killed in the Ukrainian capital. The airstrike attack came barely 48 hours after the BRICS bloc 2024 summit which was held in Kazan, Russia, where the United Nations general secretary, Antonio Guterres attended and called for worldwide peace. Voldodymr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president was devastated by the attack accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin of ignoring his counterparts at the BRICS summit call for the end of the war. Zelensky said “After everything that was said in Kazan, Russian murderers returned to their usual business,” The Ukrainian president further said, “This proves once again that aggression cannot be stopped by talking, but only by decisive actions in defense of the state”. The Russian missiles hit several buildings in Dnipro killing five people and injuring several others while two others were killed in Kyiv and ten people injured including women and children. A teenager was among the casualties in Kyiv and while two women were part of the casualties in the Dnipro area of Ukraine. Prodesq war analyst, Temitope Oladeji delved into why Russian President Vladimir Putin ignored the BRICS leader’s calls for the end of the war in Ukraine and struck less than 48 hours after the summit which he hosted in his own country. Temitope said the strike was a response to the Western leadership’s decision to hand over $50 million dollars of Russia’s overseas assets to Ukraine as a relief fund. Selling the Russian overseas assets and giving $50 million worth of it to Ukraine did not definitely go well with Putin, the strike came a few hours after the G7 leaders announced the decision to sell Russia’s overseas assets and hand it to Ukraine. However, Kyiv has been calling for more air defense systems after the capital has continuously experienced deadly drone and missile attacks from Russia. The Ukrainian forces are still yet to pull out of the Russian territory of the Kursk region since the Ukrainians made a surprise invasion of the region a month ago.

Israel Launch Overnight Retaliatory Strikes On Iran

Confirming the attack the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) said its air force planes struck several targets which included air defense batteries and missile manufacturing facilities. The Israeli Ministry of Defense however said it has completed all retaliatory strikes on Iran as it promised to do after Iran’s October 1 missile airstrikes on Israel. Rear Adm Daniel Hagari, the Israeli Defense Forces spokesperson said the military had demonstrated its preparedness “to defend the state of Israel”. He further reiterated the military preparedness of Israel if Iran chooses to retaliate against Israel. The Iranian Foreign Ministry in a statement confirmed that two Iranian soldiers were killed by the Israeli airstrikes. The Iranian foreign ministry however also made it clear that it is paramount under International law to defend and protect its territory and citizens against external aggression which does not rule out a retaliation strike on Israel. The Iranian further said that it “recognizes its responsibilities towards regional peace and security”. Iranian authorities confirmed that its military sites in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam provinces were struck by Israeli missiles. However, Western leaders including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany have called on Iran to not pursue retaliatory strikes against Israel to avoid a further escalation of tension in the Middle East. UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has thrown its support behind Israel’s decision to strike back at Iran. He reiterated the calls for Iran to avoid retaliation but also assured that the UK government would work towards de-escalating the tension within the region. Maria Zakharova, Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman said “What is needed is to stop provoking Iran to retaliate, and to get out of the spiral of uncontrollable escalation”. Qatar has expressed grave concern over the power tussle between Iran and Israel, echoing that the tension between the two countries has brought the region to the point of a full-scale war. Turkey’s military said the airstrikes were carried out simultaneously since the attack on Wednesday evening and have also killed 59 PKK militants. A claim by the Kurdish Syria Democratic Forces (SDF) militia denies but rather claims that 12 innocent civilians were killed by Turkey’s airstrikes on their northern and southern territories in Syria. Turkey’s ministry of defense has however denied any claim of responsibility or involvement for killing civilians in Syria, in a statement issued by the ministry, which said it carried airstrikes on Wednesday and Thursday against Kurdish militants in northern and southern Syria in caves, shelter houses and warehouse and 47 militants were killed in the airstrikes. The Turkish defense ministry said earlier that “all kinds of precautions were taken to prevent harm to innocent civilians, friendly elements, historical and cultural assets and the environment”. The attack on a Turkish aerospace company near the capital was carried out by a man and woman who killed five civilians and injured 22 others while the attackers were killed by security forces. Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan said the attack by the militants was a “heinous attack” and has promised to bring all sides involved in the attack to justice. The Turkish media disclosed the identity and the occupation of the victims of the attack as Cengiz Coskun, a quality control officer, Zahide Guclu, a mechanical engineer, security guard Atakan Sahin Erdogan, another employee called Huseyin Canbaz and Murat Arslan, the taxi driver. Cevdet Yilmaz, the Vice President of Turkey said that four of the five victims were workers of TAI company while the fifth victim was the cab driver who was killed by the attackers and had his cab snatched from him. Ali Yerlikaya, the Interior Minister of Turkey identified the two attackers as Kurds who were named PKK members Ali Orek and Mine Sevjin Alcicek. The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) is a banned terrorist organization in Turkey, also in the United States and the United Kingdom , and has been in constant fight against Turkey’s government since the 1980s for greater rights for the country’s significant Kurdish minority.

BRICS Officially Declared 13 Countries As Partner Nations

The 13 nations have been officially recognized and invited to join the BRICS bloc. This declaration was born from last year’s summit in which the bloc invited some countries to participate and join the BRICS membership. The 13 nations are Nigeria, Algeria, Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Turkey , Uganda, Indonesia, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Vietnam. The move is yet unclear whether these new BRICS partners will be used as replacements for the expected membership invitations. BRICS has grown at an unexpected rate since the beginning of the Ukraine-Russia war two years ago, it has become a symbol of dominant power in a bid to wrestle the western dominance in the world. The bloc ran an increasingly aggressive campaign against the de-dollarization of the US- dollar dominance of the world economy market. Cartel Violence Leaves 19 Dead In Sinaloa As Local Cartel Leader Is Arrested

Mexico’s defense ministry confirmed the incident happened in Culiacan, when a group of more than 30 gunmen fired on soldiers at a checkpoint, the soldiers returned fire and called in reinforcements from the navy. The defense ministry said some of the attackers fled abandoning their weapons and the military checkpoint was created to quell the intra cartel violence that has erupted since the arrest of the co-founder of the Sinaloa “El Mayo” Zambada. Seven vehicles and nearly 30 firearms, including machine guns, ammunition and military-style vests and helmets were also seized. The arrested cartel gang leader was identified as Edwin Antonio “N” with his last name withheld as a normal procedure for those accused of crimes in Mexico. He was regarded as a local leader of the Sinaloa Cartel faction led by its legendary co-founder Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada. Violence in Sinaloa has increased to another level since the arrest of the former leader of the Sinaloa cartel Ismail Zambada in July, and was extradited to the United States. Prodesq political analyst, Temitope Oladeji, said the cause of the deadly violence in coastal areas of Sinaloa has been attributed to the power tussle between the two factions of the same Sinaloa cartel group which involved the sons of arrested drug lord “El Chapo” who are called “chapitos” are wrestling for the control of the leadership of Mexico deadliest cartel group against the loyalist of “El Mayo” Zambada who was recently arrested in July. El Mayo has been running the Sinaloa cartel since the arrest of his former partner El Chapo by the United States authorities in 2016 but the recent arrest of Zambada leaves a huge hole of leadership which has led to deadly clashes between the two factions in the cartel. It’s reported that over two hundred people have been killed since the cartel violence broke out in September and over three hundred people have been declared missing.

Israel Arrests Seven Of Its Citizens For Allegedly Spying For Iran

This was disclosed in a statement released by the police department which said “successfully dismantled a spy network involving seven Israeli citizens who were operating on behalf of Iranian intelligence”. The suspects were arrested in the city of Haifa and other northern parts of the country were accused of carrying out several missions under the directives of two Iranian agents known as “Alkhan and Orkhan” over the period of two years. The police disclosed that “The network members were aware that the intelligence they provided compromised national security and could potentially aid enemy missile attacks”, “The network conducted extensive reconnaissance missions on IDF bases nationwide, focusing on air force and navy installations, ports, Iron Dome system locations, and energy infrastructure such as the Hadera power plant.” the police said. The police further disclosed that the spy network received hundreds of thousands of dollars from their Iranian handlers through cryptocurrency exchanges in exchange for several pictures of military targets and energy facilities in the country. In addition the police also said “These included photographs and videos of numerous IDF bases across Israel, ports, and energy infrastructure. It is assessed that these activities have inflicted security damage on the state”. This will be the second major arrest of Israeli citizens being charged with spying for the Iranian government, according to the police. Weeks ago the Israeli police had arrested an Israeli on the suspicion of being recruited by the Iranian government to plot the assassination of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior officials in the Israeli government. Gunmen Unleash Mayhem At Turkey’s Aerospace Complex In Ankara Killing Four People

Confirming the unfortunate incident was Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey who was informed about the shooting while he was on a telephone conversation with President Putin of Russia. The president who expressed grievance over the shooting assured the public that the assailants would be hunted down and brought to justice. Ali Yerlikaya, the Interior Minister of Turkey took to his official X account to inform the public and express his concerns about the incident, he said, “A terrorist attack was carried out against the Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) Ankara Kahramankazan facilities”. He further stated that “Unfortunately, we have martyrs and injured people after the attack… May God have mercy on our martyrs and I wish a speedy recovery to our wounded”. The Interior Minister however assured that proper investigation will be conducted and further information about the incident will be released to the public as time goes on. Prodesq crime analyst Temitope Oladeji, disclosed that the security cam footage showed two men with backpacks with Ak-47 rifles getting down from a Volkswagen coupe, unleashing gunfire at civilians from close range. He further stated that loud explosions were heard in the vicinity and gunshots were fired sporadically by the attackers. However, the two attackers were neutralized by the Turkish police who were aided by the army in securing and restoring control over the area. Paramedics and ambulances were on site to transport the wounded to different hospitals in the capital and the dead were evacuated from the scene to a morgue also in the capital. No group has come forward to claim responsibility for the attack on the aerospace complex.

Pentagon Staff Have Been Accused Of Leaking Classified Documents About Israel’s Plans To Attack Iran

The FBI has initially disclosed that they were investigating two senior highly classified intelligence documents in a statement released on Tuesday by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, it said “The FBI is investigating the alleged leak of classified documents and working closely with our partners in the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community”. The leaked documents which appeared last week on a telegram channel and went viral on several news outlets and social media outlets have raised several questions regarding how the such information was leaked after several sources have confirmed the authenticity of the leaked documents. The leaked documents which comprises of the U.S. Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency (GNA) and the military movements of Israeli intelligence reports indicating the strike strategies against Iran for its October 1 attack against Israel. The documents were shared between the Five Eyes Security Organization which includes the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. The leaked documents which did not include the overall specifications of each Israeli target in Iran but shows the plan to use long range ballistic missiles in Iran. The documents further show how the Israeli Air Force has conducted several strike drills with air-launched ballistic missiles (ALBM), including at least 16 “Golden Horizon” missiles and 40 “Rocks” or ISO2 missiles. The use of covert drones operations were also discussed and secret UAV deployment were discussed after the Israeli military exercises which included a second large-scale deployment exercise” which was conducted between October 15 and 16. Ramat David and Ramon Air Force Bases also participated in the program of joint air-to-surface missiles (ASM) training exercises. Prodesq war analyst, disclosed that the leaked documents showed the refueling exercises of UAVs which were conducted on October 16. The Israeli government has condemned the leaks and called it an embarrassment for the Pentagon and the United States government. The Israeli government has urged the United States government to investigate the leaks and prosecute the perpetrators of the leaks.
