Russia has received 10,000 North Korean troops to help them in their ongoing war in Ukraine.
The recent turn of events between the two countries has raised high concerns in Washington and Kyiv as Russia continues to claim more territory in Ukraine.
Confirming the new twist in the war is Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, who said Russia’s plan for a long campaign of a full-scale war in the coming Autumn.
He said “This is no longer just about transferring weapons. It is actually about transferring people from North Korea to the occupying military forces.”
Also, confirming the movement of North Korean troops to Russia is Kim Yong-Hyun, the South Korean Defense Minister who earlier informed Kyiv in a warning report that North Korean troops are likely to be at the forefront of war in Ukraine.
The continuous improvement of the relationship between Russia and the North has shown that Moscow is in desperate need of resources after it received thousands of drones and missiles from Iran earlier this year.
Russia and North Korea signed a Defense Pact earlier this year when Russian President Vladimir Putin visited North Korea in June in a bid to source for help in its expensive war in Ukraine and against NATO.
The United States and Ukraine governments have earlier accused the North Korean government of supplying ballistic missiles to Russia in 2023.
Washington and Brussels are yet to release any official statement regarding the transfer of North Korean Troops to Russia.
