Israeli defense forces have killed five palestinian civilians with an airstrike on occupied territory of the West Bank on Wednesday morning.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society confirmed the attack and said “as a result of Israeli air strikes which occurred near a mosque in the Tubas region.
Ahmed Jibril, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society spokesperson said the victims of the attack were taken to a Turkish hospital in Tubas.
The Israel Defense Forces claimed that the attack was carried out on a terrorist base in the Tubas region in northern West Bank.
They further claimed that “currently conducting counterterrorism activity in the area of Tubas and Tamun struck an armed terrorist cell” which harbored a prominent terrorist figure in the person of Muhammad Zakaria Zubeidi from the Jenin region.
The IDF has refused to confirm the number of the death toll.
An eyewitness claimed that the Israeli forces were “storming the city of Tubas and the town of Tammun to the east nearby Tammun town, and imposed a curfew.”
According to the Palestinian health ministry, a total number of 698 Palestinians have been killed while 5700 others have been injured in the West Bank by the Israeli defense forces and Israeli settlers since October 7.
