The Israel Defense Forces have pulled out of the City of Jenin and the surrounding refugee camps in the West Bank after ten days of heavy fighting in the area which has left thirty-six Palestinians civilians dead.

Prodesq gathered that on Friday the Israel Defense Force rolled out their tanks and the Palestinians civilians were heading back towards their homes. The Palestinian refugee camp was reported to be used by some militia fighters which also included the Hamas group which were responsible for the October 7 attacks on Israel that left more than 1000 Israeli civilians killed.

The incursion of the Israel Defense Forces was reported to be the deadliest since the beginning of the Israel-Hamas conflict which has claimed thousands of civilian lives in several parts of Gaza and the West Bank strips.

Prodesq reported the incursion which began on August 28 with the Israel Defense Force rolling in tanks and bulldozers into the City of Jenin, Tulkarem, and Tubas.

In a statement released by Israel Defense Ministry, it claimed that “Over the course of the operation in Jenin, Israeli forces killed 14 militants, arrested 30 suspects, dismantled approximately 30 explosives planted under roads” and also conducted four aerial air strikes.

The statement further stated that “Israeli security forces are continuing to act in order to achieve the objectives of the counterterrorism operation,” adding that It said in a statement on Friday that Israeli forces “have been conducting counterterrorism activity in the area of Jenin”.

The statement by the IDF has not formally acknowledged the withdrawal of troops and tanks from Jenin, Tulkarem, and Tubas, but rather acknowledges that one Israeli soldier was killed in the operation.

Prodesq also gathered information that several houses in Jenin camp were  destroyed and damaged by the Israeli army bulldozers and the roads were stripped from the ground.

It was reported by the Palestinian health ministry that 661 Palestinian civilians have been killed since the beginning of the Gaza war began on October 7, while 23 Israelis, including security forces, have been killed in Palestinian attacks in the territory during the same period, according to Israeli officials.
